Blackmer ProVane® Pumps Offer Energy Savings and Performance Advantages for Ethanol Producers
As ethanol’s role in the fueling of the world’s motor vehicles continues to grow, Blackmer’s ProVane® Motor Speed Sliding Vane Pumps are ideally suited for the processing, blending and transferring of this alternative fuel, making them a pivotal component in ethanol-production plants worldwide.
Designed to be the ethanol industry’s most energy-efficient process pump, the ProVane® utilizes self-adjusting vanes to eliminate efficiency-robbing “slip,” meaning they maintain near-original volumetric output capacity and consistency even after significant time in service. The ProVane’s hydrodynamic journal bearing provides superior bearing life, which results in less friction and a decrease in energy loss with a resultant increase in mechanical efficiency.
Due to the highly corrosive nature of ethanol, ProVane® pumps are outfitted with UL listed fluorocarbon elastomer (FKM) seals that allow for compatibility with a wide range of fluids at all blend levels. The ProVane® does not require a gear reducer, providing equipment, installation and energy-cost savings, and a smaller footprint than conventional models.
